A passionate advocate for tennis development, Jack has built a distinguished career that spans from junior to professional levels. He was honored as the USTA NV Pro of the Year in 2019 and awarded the Professional Tennis Registry USA Young Professional of the Year in the same year, recognizing his dedication and innovation in the tennis community.
As the Tennis Director at the USTA Facility of the Year 2023 at Southern Highlands Country Club, Jack demonstrated his exceptional ability to elevate the sport and inspire players of all levels. He also earned a full scholarship to a Division One NCAA program, followed by two-time JUCO All-American honors. These achievements underscore his deep understanding of competitive tennis and his ability to guide others to reach their potential.
Certified and insured with the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), Jack is a respected Coach Certifier, Presenter, and Consultant, known for his expertise in tennis education and player development. His coaching philosophy revolves around the "play to learn" approach, where players improve their skills through active participation and engagement. Coach Cynthia Doerner is an elite, USPTA-certified Tennis Professional with decades of experience in both competitive play and coaching. A former world-ranked WTA #15, Cynthia has an impressive career that includes competing in over 25 Grand Slam events. Her remarkable journey on the international tennis circuit saw her competing at the sport’s highest levels, including eight appearances at Wimbledon, nine at the Australian Open, five at the French Open, and five at the US Open.
Now a valued member of the coaching team at Fig Garden Swim & Racquet Club, Coach Cynthia specializes in nurturing the next generation of tennis stars. Her expertise and passion for working with young players make her the perfect fit for our junior programs, including the 3-Year-Old Intro to Tennis, Mini Figs, and private instruction. Daniel Trujillo brings 15 years of experience developing junior tennis players, making him a trusted figure in the Central Valley tennis community. Born and raised in Clovis/Fresno, Daniel’s deep roots in the area have fueled his passion for tennis, both as a player and a coach. He has spent 11 years coaching Division 1 high school tennis before transitioning to serve as the assistant coach and, eventually, the head coach for the Men’s Tennis Team at Fresno City College. Over the years, Daniel has worked with a wide range of players, from beginners starting as young as 3 years old to top collegiate athletes, tailoring his coaching approach to each player’s needs and skill level.
A Level 2 PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) certified coach, Daniel is the highest-qualified tennis professional in Fresno, a distinction that reflects his commitment to excellence in teaching. His approach is centered on creating a fun, positive, and engaging environment both on and off the court. Whether coaching young players or seasoned athletes, Daniel’s priority is always to instill a love for the game while promoting personal growth and sportsmanship. He’s excited to continue his mission to develop tennis players through the Junior Tennis Academy (JTA) at Fig Garden Swim & Racquet Club, where his expertise and enthusiasm will help shape the next generation of players.

Laura is a highly accomplished tennis professional with a rich background in competitive play and over 10 years of teaching experience. Growing up in Visalia, California, she developed a passion for tennis at the age of five, quickly excelling in high-level junior tournaments both nationally and internationally. Throughout her junior career, Laura represented both Southern and Northern California sections, earning multiple #1 rankings in Northern California and top 5 rankings in Southern California. She was also consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally in both singles and doubles, showcasing her exceptional skills on the court.
Laura continued her tennis journey at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA, and later at Loyola Marymount University in Westchester, CA, where she contributed to both teams’ successes. Following college, she competed professionally on the tennis circuit, further honing her skills at the highest levels of the sport. With over 10 years of experience teaching tennis, Laura is a PTR-certified coach, dedicated to helping players of all levels improve their game. She is now excited to return to competitive play, focusing on both singles and doubles at the senior level. Outside of tennis, Laura enjoys playing the piano, golfing, and boating, embracing a well-rounded lifestyle.
